About Me
Some of my earliest memories are of my father and his very old Zenit film camera. He would spend hours taking video and photo of my grandmother and I together, riding my bike, swinging and story telling. Watching the footage play back during my adolescence helped me remember my grandma when she was young, and seeing how much she loved and cared for me before she passed.

This is the first step to getting to know each other and plan for the special day. To get started, simply fill out the form on our website, and we will get back to you within 24 hours. The more detail you provide in the form, the better chance we have to recommend the right service and availability for you. We’ll have a friendly chat to discuss and plan the perfect style for your photos, ensuring everything is just how you imagined. We will help you choose the right service from the package options in our online catalogue. You can tell us about yourself and the family members you would like to include in the session, and we will recommend the best option that suits your needs. Whether you are booking a newborn, maternity, or baby photo session, there are some particular steps for booking and planning. Be sure to check how it works for each service for more details. We have FAQ answers as well as workflow details for all services.
On your session day, we will have fun capturing amazing photos of your little one. Depending on your package, bring extra outfits for the baby to change through the session.
After the shoot, in about a few days, you’ll get access to a private online gallery where you can view and choose your favorite pictures to be edited. You can also add editing comments there for our editing team. There are options to order additional photos and prints à la carte.
Finally, your beautiful photos and any products you ordered will be delivered to you, ready for you to enjoy!

BOOKING AND SCHEDULING
Use the contact form to get started! We will discuss details of your session, select dates and I will then forward you an invoice for the retainer to hold your spot. A non-refundable booking retainer retainer and a signed online contract is required to book our sessions. I accept credit cards online, or email interac transfers. The final image collection payment is due 30 days before your session (or immediately for last minute bookings).
Book your sessions as early as possible – most clients book in their second trimester. My spots are not unlimited, so it is important to book in advance.
Maternity sessions are held 29-35 weeks at our Langley studio only.
Posed newborn sessions are held at 7-14 days after birth, at our Langley studio.
Older newborn sessions (no posing or props) are lifestyle and held between 3-6 weeks after birth.
For all newborn sessions, we finalize the date after baby’s birth.
As an long-time professional, my sessions are smooth and efficient.
Maternity sessions: about 1 hour, outfits are chosen online in advance.
Posed newborn sessions: 2-3 hours, including image selection appointment.
Older newborn sessions: 1.5-2 hrs. including image selection appointment.
Milestone baby sessions: about 1 hour, as babies have limited attention spans.
Please contact me at your earliest opportunity (we ask for 72 hours notice), I cannot promise that a new date will be available in the time frame that you request, and rescheduling fees are charged to offset our loss. I turn away other inquiries when your session is booked, so no-show clients are not eligible for refunds. The retainer fee is always nonrefundable.
If the photographer needs to reschedule, I will contact you to arrange a new date. For full terms and conditions, see the contract (at booking) or send me an email with additional questions.
Finally, your beautiful photos and any products you ordered will be delivered to you, ready for you to enjoy! Depending on your package, you will receive your digital images via a Dropbox link or a custom USB. All prints, albums, and lay flats will be ready for pickup at the studio in less than a week after the order.
MATERNITY SESSIONS
No, but I have a list of reputable and talented artists that I recommend to my clients.
As any mother-to-be knows, pregnancy is hard on the body. Additionally, everyone has variations and minor imperfections to begin with (stretch marks, spider veins, etc).
Our studio works to keep you comfortable and in poses that are flattering. We give every image a gentle retouching treatment, for a natural and beautiful result. Extensive retouching (nose job, changing size, etc) is not included but available for an additional charge.
We offer an enormous collection of designer maternity gowns in universally flattering colours and a variety of sizes from XS to XL. Some pieces will stretch to accommodate XXL. We provide an online sizing guide and gown selection website for choosing in advance. Later, we offer in-person advice at your session, and clamp for a custom fit.
After booking your session, I will send you a pdf guide on what to expect and how to prepare for your session. Detailed information is provided to ensure that you get the very best from your photography session, including a comprehensive guide on ‘what to wear’. You will need to have appropriate underwear and come with your hair and makeup already done. I provide wardrobe for moms who wish to use my pieces.
NEWBORN SESSIONS
Our packages include a same day, in-person image selection appointment where clients to choose their photos in person and purchase additional photos and albums, if desired.
The chosen images will be professionally edited and delivered as high-resolution images via digital download.
I’ll make a note of your due date on the studio calendar. Then, pretend I’m immediate family! If anything changes or you get a scheduled c-section date, let me know via email, phone, or even text message. I ask that clients contact me within 48 hours of baby’s birth so that we can finalize the session date.
We do provide gentle retouching for baby (skin tones, light and natural retouching to minimize flakiness, etc), but do ask that you request us to do any specific removals (like birth marks, stork bites, etc).

We can still create beautiful pictures to celebrate baby’s arrival! My swaddled/posed workflow works best with babies up to 20 days old, older than that and more lifestyle images are substituted. Older newborns are more likely to be awake and swaddled for their session – but I love to capture their open eyes and the beginnings of their relationship with their parents.
My swaddled/posed workflow is best done with new babies under 20 days old. The younger they are, the more likely they are to sleep through almost anything and are naturally curled up.
The older they get, the stronger, more alert and easily upset they become, and acne/flaking/colic may set in, so it is best to book your session earlier than later. If baby needs NICU time, we’ll schedule a session for after baby comes home.
INVESTMENT
No, only a certain number depending on the package you purchase. Images will be delivered in jpg format via an online gallery.
They are full-size and professionally edited, in both colour and black and white.
We do not sell or giveaway RAW (unedited) files.
Tax is not optional for a legally run business. No, I do not haggle. My packages are designed to both offer value already but to also cover the costs of running a business and providing a living wage to support my family.
I only make bookings directly with the actual mother, but friends or family are welcome to contact me to make donations toward your photography packages.
All of our digital image packages includes the time at the studio with me (Alexandra Hunt), professional editing of your images, access to our props and accessories, a personal printing release and printing guide, as well as a certain number of digital files (full-size, full-resolution, in colour, black and white, and web-sized versions). Digital files allow you to print your images where, when, and how you want, so your package does not include any prints or fine art products.
I accept major credit cards online, or email interac transfers. I do not accept cash.
HOURS AND LOCATION
My lighting, props, and backdrops are not portable, so all newborn and baby sessions take place in my cosy and relaxing studio. It’s not uncommon for parents to watch me work with their newborn for a few minutes, then go take a nap in the nursing room or on the couch in the main studio. As a mother myself, I understand how it’s important to rest in the postpartum period, and I work to keep baby calm and peaceful so you can rest and relax knowing that baby is safe and in good hands!
We are open on select weekday mornings and one weekday evening per week. Weekends are not normally available, only upon special request at an additional cost of + $150.
SERVICES + AMENITIES
Sorry, our insurance and allergies mean that the studio is a pet-free zone, without exception.

I provide the amenities of home and nursery so new parents can venture out in confidence and comfort, knowing that even if they forget something at home, I’ve got them covered! Some things I provide: changing table, bath tub, private bathroom + towels, diapers, wipes, blankets, swaddles, burp cloths, nursing cushions, nursing chairs and footstools, couch, table and chairs and an assortment of toys for siblings, light reading material, water bottles, access to microwave and fridge (bottle storage), and more.
Larger packages include access to our postpartum wardrobe for mom and select pieces for dads and siblings!
Our contract gives us 3-4 weeks to deliver the downloadable image gallery for any session, but larger newborn packages include expedited turnaround of 7-10 days.
Expedited turnaround can be added to your small newborn package for an additional fee of $150.
